Frank Lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright – Fallingwater – Bear Run, PA

The residential masterpiece was designed for the Kaufmann family in 1936 and was completed just a year later. It was a clear expression of how man can live in  harmony with nature. It is built inside a 5,000 acre natural wilderness using local sandstone, concrete, steel, and glass.

I chose this building because of how in touch with nature it is. It truly is gorgeous and awe inspiring, especially for that period of time. Frank Lloyd Wright was definitely ahead of the game. His inspiration was the backdrop and how nature created these shelf-like images in the rocks and how the water flowed down them. And that’s exactly what he made the building look like when he constructed his vision in to this magnificent work of art.
